INDUSTRY SERVICE

For almost 20 years Best Practice has been researching Australian and New Zealand residential agency income, expenses, surplus, personnel numbers, properties sold and properties managed. This information is then presented as a benchmarking report AT NO COST to every participating agency. Complimentary copies are also provided to all franchise groups, marketing groups and real estate institutes. The research and resultant report are conducted by Best Practice at its own expense AS A SERVICE TO AUSTRALASIAN AGENCY PRACTICE.

INVITATION

During June and July every Australian and New Zealand residential agency business is invited to participate in the 2009 interfirm comparison.

CONFIDENTIAL AND FREE

As with every other survey of this nature conducted by Best Practice since 1990 you are not required to identify your agency. Confidentiality and anonymity are assured. Every participating agency receives the final benchmarking report  FOR FREE.

BENEFIT TO YOUR BUSINESS

The final report will be published in September. It will contain a line by line analysis of income, expenses and operating surplus of  BOTH THE SALES DEPARTMENT and THE PROPERTY MANAGEMENT DEPARTMENT. It will analyse top 10%, average and bottom 10% performance across a range of geographic locations and income levels.

Key performance indicators including * Net advertising * Salaries / employees * Operating surplus * Surplus per principal * Sales per salesperson * Commission per sale * Commission per salesperson * Tenancies managed per property manager * Profit per tenancy managed. . . . will be provided in an easy to use format.

F.A.Q.

The most frequently asked question is: How do we split shared expenses such a premises costs?

The majority of accountants split shared expenses in accordance with the business's income split. For example, where sales income is 70% and property management is 30% the shared expenses are split 70/30.

WHAT DO YOU NEED TO DO NOW?
